Beautiful image! that reminds me i want to get into town and take some shots of the unicorn statues! --i love the effect of the buildings curving over the statehouse... it really gives the feeling that they're 'looming over'

Creative way to convey the challenge theme and a superb image. My favorite for this challenge. Great job!

I really wish I had a fisheye lens.
Great shot!

Supercoolawesome. Perfect use of a fisheye

Interesting perspective. One of my favorites in this challenge. Good job.

Intereseting shot. Although it's very evident that the old building is surrounded by newer, taller, shinier ones, my eye is drawn to the bendy effect of the new buildings. Distracting from the point I guess.

Great use of the fish eye lens.
Really shows the overpowering of the old by the new.

wooo... good use of a fisheye (?) lens!!

This shot really shows how this building is surrounded... I like it. 9

Interesting effect!

This has got to be a winner!!!

It looks like you used a fish eye lense. Works great here.
01/30/2005 03:04:21 PM
Great use of a fisheye (I'm assuming) to get the perspective of this shot!

Great composition and effect on this photo! I don't like that much effected photos, but it works well here. :-) Good luck!

Wow... Composing images with fisheye's is quite often difficult, you've pulled it off well here, and the reflected light on the older building is neat... 8

It'll be interesting to read you comments after the challenge to see what lens/camera you used as well..

very unique shot. Was this a fish-eye lens? Wonderful all-around.

Very interesting use of a fish eye lens (or whatever you did to get that effect) I love the way it turned out. It makes a common subject completely unique. Nice job.

This is a very nice shot! The title is perfect it tells the viewer exactly what the shot is about.. I really like the way the photo is slightly distorted it gives the image a new look and feel. I love how the new buildings oversee and in a way overpower the old! It gives a person that whole overcrowded sense of feeling. I also like the way it looks like the sun is getting ready to shine through but can't because of the tall buildings. Nice job this shot was taken well and you can tell you put thought into it.. it wasn't just a snapshot!

You really get the feeling of being overshadowed by the new buildings with the fish eye. I didn't like the lower left hand portion of the photo though.
01/27/2005 06:28:38 PM
I love the almost claustrophobic feel to this one, where the old building is being crowded by the new. Great fit to the challenge.

Just a bit *too* 'fisheye' for my liking.
01/27/2005 05:37:02 PM
Great shot. I love the perspective.
01/27/2005 02:39:17 PM
one of a few that did not need a title in this challenge
01/27/2005 01:58:32 AM
This is crisp and the use of the fisheye makes it one of the more interesting "building" photos. Even though the use of the fisheye creates a great effect, you have still offset your main subject. Clever or fortunate?? Good luck.
01/26/2005 08:45:11 PM
great use of the fisheye
01/26/2005 07:33:14 PM
Expresses the challenge well
01/26/2005 06:22:54 PM
i wish the old building was more centered in the fram... clever use of lenses though.
01/26/2005 01:06:20 PM
Nice job. Old and new is just one statement of the big picture
01/26/2005 11:06:40 AM
your fisheye really adds the appearance that they are overlooking the older building. Great job and choice of approach. Shadows are a little distracting but nothing serious.
01/26/2005 09:07:36 AM
This is wonderful. Great technique, good composition, and fitting title.
01/26/2005 01:10:23 AM
like the fisheye :o)
