I have a Grapevine in my backyard. I'm sure this won't be the only vine picture but at least it meets the challenge. I did enjoy this challenge. My neighbors probably thought I had gone mad or I had lost something. I spent hours looking for something in my yard that resembled a number.

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. I decided not to title this with a number as there are a couple of different numbers in there so I left it to the viewer to decide.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Good photograph, the number is clearly evident but nothing I would have though of on my own... great thinking!

CHALLENGE: Meets the challenge.

COMPOSITION: Excellent composition. I love the way the vien leads the viewers eye in from the corner, through the tangle at center, and up to the "9" at upper right. I would have preferred a more interesting background but understand this was a natural setting and the backgroung was pretty much out of your control.

TECHNICAL: Good exposure and I like the shallow depth of field, especially given the simple background.

CONCLUSION: A solid entry that was worthy of its top 10 finish.

Thanks for sharing and good luck in future challenges!

Good use of dof here. I like the composition also, rather than just doing a shot of the number item, there are leading lines and and another image supporting the vine. Good job. 8

Good find. The black and white works well. Less DOF could have put the confusing background out focus more.

Good one. You really had to show as much as you did to show what it is. Plus this picture is very good on it's own (not showing a number).
