Very nice. Love your compostion. The building really pull me into the photograph.

The colors are spectacular and I think the child in the image really adds a lot to its warm feel.

This is a fabulous use of color. I like the angle of the shot drawing your eye into the background. The little kid with the colors of his outfit is just a nice little added touch.

Whoo Hoo.....Go team aussie !! Not bad on your first attempt Tony, hey it might go uphill from here, who knows ! It's so difficult to crack a top 20 finish so well done ! :-)

Woo Hoo a top 10 finish on my first attempt, it can only be down hill from here :)

As for some of the questions, the shot was taken in the morning at Brighton Beach, Melbourne, Australia. Those "Hippy Huts", as somebody said, are bathing boxes where people keep their gear for a trip to the beach. Far from being "Hippy huts", Brighton is a pretty well to do area and one of these boxes would set you back a bit on the rare occation they come onto the market.

As for the shot, it was taken early in the morning when the beach was fairly empty and was in heavy shadow. I adjusted levels, saturation and USM to bring the detail out a bit, hence what I think is a little of an unreal look that I thought suited the title. I wish his foot was in the frame too, but when your model is 2 years old he doesn't take direction very well :)

Strangely enough having veiwed this on a number of monitors I get a vast difference in color, all the way from a little under to a bit over saturated ( I think the range of color made this more noticable than other photos I viewed, I'll remember that in the future)

6.651 I'm stoked, thanks to those who voted!

Great shot. I wish his little foot was all the way in the frame. The colors and shadows are fitting. 9.

I really like the colors in this, would be interested to know where this was shot. The lighting is terrific too.

Whoa. Too much expansion of the dynamic range - highlights have been reduced and shadows have been expanded too much. Almost gives this a printed feel., and creates haloing around areas of contrast.

Aside from that, The composition is fantastic and a good title.

nice use of primary colours. Surely not taken in UK at this time of year? I like the shadows and composition and you have done a nice job of keeping shadow detail...

The saturation is a bit high on the child's shirt but there may just be a difference in our monitors. Tied for best of chalenge.

Brigthon Beach? This is in the USA right?
The Brighton beach that I know is in the south of the UK and doesn't look much like this :-)

Great photo!

A very, very beautiful shot. So glad the little boy is in it, with brightly colored clothes that make him stand out. The shadows of the cabannas are gorgeous.

Ordinarily a photo with gaudy oversaturated colors would turn me off but it seems to work here.
