Curve adjust. Screened laer of just the cat. 16% Hi-pass overlay layer of just the cat. Some spot cloning to remove the camera tripod. USM. Then a highly sharpened clouds layer blended in vivid light mode at about 20% to bring out some lines and textures. It also made the gold a little more "gold". I don't know why.

Nicely set up. The cat adds interest and points to this picture.

The proof, as they say, is in the pudding! Clever execution and overall well composed here.

Suggestion for improvement: the green tree 'branch' is somewhat subdued. A quick hue/saturation adjustment to adjust the saturation of the green channel would give this image more pop and match the excellent saturation in the rest of the photograph.

Overall a very refreshingly creative entry. Well done.

I love this picture! It is so funny. I sat and laughed at it for several minutes because it is so true. I don't have cats but my daughter does and this has happened many times. One time the cat shot out from the center of the tree. Well done!

I had this idea and chose another. I might have used more DOF to bring the tree branch into focus. The reflection of the cat is a nice touch.

Clever idea which you have captured very well. Nothing technically wrong, colour, lighting and focus are fine.

I truly do like this photo. The DOF, the clarity and the guilty looking culprit were riveting. I gave this one of my highest scores and do believe it will be with the leaders when tabulation is completed.

I think this is the best in the challenge.
Whereas this is not a small photo you could have made it just a bit bigger and used the full 640.

cleverly included the cat - very well done there :) tree paper a bit distracting

Very cute this time of year. A bit more shallow dof to defocus the tree branch. But good idea and composition. Good luck on this holiday shot.

If I couldn't see your reflection then this would be a much better mark.

I was going to try doing this with our cats but I didn't even try - my husband said it couldn't be done. And what a great job YOU have done! The cat has the perfect expression on its face, and the reflections of the tree in the ornament are good, and I don't see you or the camera in there. This must have been quite difficult to achieve. Congratulations!

You can really see the guilty expression on the cat. Well done. 9
