Well done! I agree with autool--It is always nice when a picture tells a story.

Nicely caught.
05/05/2002 06:29:00 PM
excellent idea
05/05/2002 05:08:00 PM
Excellent timing!!! How long did you have to wait for this amazing shot? The wind blowing the flag definitely made this photo happen! Good job!
05/04/2002 08:22:00 AM
Probably get some controversy here. I give it a 10 because it is not only a great shot but it has a patriotic story line. You all know I like to be told a story. The planes are flying, the flags a flying, in cloudy skys, and "Till Johnny comes marching home".
05/03/2002 06:50:00 PM
Good catch.
05/03/2002 09:55:00 AM
Do I detect a little flag waving?? Still a good picture.
05/03/2002 07:32:00 AM
well done. amazing combo of wind and overcast clouds. perfect plane position (you don't know the pilot, do you?)
05/03/2002 07:15:00 AM
Nice image, bit political for me??
05/02/2002 07:52:00 PM
Very patriotic theme. Could have benefitted from moving the flagpole over to the right a bit I think.
05/02/2002 07:02:00 PM
A very moving photo - pulled at my heart-strings - I'm an Australian and we feel your pain because our people were there too.
05/01/2002 05:10:00 PM
Long may she wave. This is an excellent photo--sharp colors, subject matter we should all be proud of and I am proud of the American who choose this shot.
05/01/2002 01:21:00 PM
Very nice idea. The colors are nice and crisp; I might have cropped some of the right hand side.
05/01/2002 09:36:00 AM
Nice shot. Is the camera actually near the ground or did you shoot up? I know cropping may sometimes ruin that feel of being near the ground.
05/01/2002 08:58:00 AM
Nice with the right side cropped away to make a vertical. The apparent alignment between the plane's course and the angle of the flag is really good. Shame the flag bunched up in the shadow like that. Could you have your friend fly by again?
05/01/2002 04:52:00 AM
The flag seems really proud to be there :) Not so sure about the vast amount of sky on the RHS.
04/30/2002 06:14:00 PM
Great timing.
04/30/2002 03:57:00 PM
Nice Timing.
04/30/2002 01:08:00 PM
Verging on cheesy patriotism but its a really nice pic so I'll let you off!!
04/30/2002 12:52:00 PM
gorgeous shot, is that an orange SW Airlines jet?
04/30/2002 09:43:00 AM
Great timing to get the flag furled up and the airplane in perfect position. Wonderful lighting on the flag too. Makes me want to salute!
04/30/2002 09:08:00 AM
Alright, you can have my 10. Very nice photo. The best in my opinion.
04/30/2002 06:55:00 AM
Awesome shot!!!
04/29/2002 08:44:00 PM
I'm glad I didn't submit my flag photo. This is well done and makes me want to stand up and sing the National Anthem.
04/29/2002 05:19:00 PM
how awesome would it have been if you had caught a fighter jet going over the flag instead of a commercial plane? still a nice shot
04/29/2002 04:50:00 PM
Patriotic - extra point!
04/29/2002 03:51:00 PM
Nice color.......
04/29/2002 01:59:00 PM
nice shot
04/29/2002 01:32:00 PM
beautiful pic. the plane adds a nice post-sep 11th touch.
04/29/2002 01:08:00 PM
Excellent composition and timing. A shot like this is hard to get, and you did a great job. Be prepared though, people are going to slam this because of the subject matter, apparently many people confuse taking a photograph with making a politcal statement. I'm giving high marks for it's quality.
04/29/2002 12:02:00 PM
Almost like the photo as much as the name ... MetallicA
04/29/2002 11:18:00 AM
I think this might have been stronger framed vertically...the silhouette of the plane is richly symbolic, and the flag is lit rather nicely, but there just seems to be too much blue on the right. Must have been difficult to catch that at the right moment though.
04/29/2002 10:47:00 AM
ooo... nice. Luck shot on the plane? he he Or had you been sitting around all day for it to pass by? :)
04/29/2002 10:46:00 AM
This is a very well executed photo, but makes me uneasy because of the manipulative, propagandistic subject matter. To me it says "you're either with us, or you're with the terrorists"... ie. it embodies divisiveness and a stance against peace. Maybe it is more pleasing to Americans than to the rest of us.
04/29/2002 09:55:00 AM
I hate america.
04/29/2002 09:50:00 AM
i really like this pic because it not only is from the ground up, but it also has something going on besides just something still.
04/29/2002 09:37:00 AM
This photo definitely stirs some emotions, and I'll consider that a good thing. Nice timing to get such a balanced photograph.
04/29/2002 08:57:00 AM
Did you get this on the first take, or did you have to have the plane circle?
04/29/2002 08:54:00 AM
Very nice photo!! I like this concept and tried to do a few like this myself without much luck. My photos were OK but the sky was too dark and overcast due to weather here over the weekend. God Bless America!
04/29/2002 08:41:00 AM
What a moment ! You got it with the jet too !!!
04/29/2002 08:39:00 AM
composition needs some work - maybe with the flag more to the right, or turning the camera and taking this vertically. Emotive choice of subject.
04/29/2002 08:30:00 AM
Awesome! One thing for sure, you didn't have a whole lot of time to "pose" this one! Sure glad you didn't miss it, as it gives me goosebumps.Sharp image, and those clouds are amazing!
04/29/2002 08:01:00 AM
Very patriotic. Good timeing to get the jet in the picture too.
04/29/2002 03:09:00 AM
How much did you have to pay the guy to fly the plane just as you were taking your pictures?? How many times did he have to turn around so you could get another shot???
04/29/2002 12:40:00 AM
this has photo journalist written all over it.
