This was tricky because I had to use the timer, let it focus on Scott's hand, and then run around to get in position. The lighting sucks, but hey, we only have 24 hours :).

tcherring - I sent you a private message to explain this, but you haven't changed your comment yet...

The face isn't a child, it's me!

Edit: Thanks for revising your comments. I wasn't annoyed that you misinterpreted the photo... I was just surprised :). The way you saw it is perfectly valid and I'm glad you were so inspired by it. How could I not be? :)

CRITIQUE CLUB - REVISED

Thanks for the explanation! I'm a bit embarrassed! Okay, let's try this again. By the way, you are very lucky to look so darn young (I just hate people like you! just kidding)

First of all, when I first saw this, I thought it was a child kissing the hands of his parents. It looked very "nuzzled" and pure, so I didn't even consider it was you. I'm sorry about that. I don't want you to think I didn't love it, because I did. In fact, this particular photo gave me millions of ideas for family portraits, so either way VERY WELL DONE!!! There are so many possibilities with this photo, which proves it's a wonderful shot.

LIGHTING - As you mentioned, the lighting could have been a bit better, but it still works for this mood. Again, the focus is on the ring, and I still would have moved it in just a touch. Looking at it now, it does work for this though!

FOCUS - Just a touch grainy, but it works for this. YOUR eyes seem a bit dark giving you a bit of a sad, reflective look. Again, lighting would correct this. This could be what you were after though. To brighten the mood, I would put a little more light by your eyes. The profile is nice because you caught your eyelashes on the other side as well ( a lot of people have a hard time capturing the other eyelashes, so that's fantastic)

BACKGROUND - Thanks for staying with a solid color!! I think this would look stunning on black with soft light as well.

CHALLENGE - I still see this as a gorgeous family shot. I love your lips on the back of his hand. It's funny, because I see this as innocent love, nothing sexy or overly romantic, just very pure and innocent which I really like.

TOUCH-UPS - After the challenge, if this is a photo you are considering keeping, you might want to adjust the lighting, and hide the stray hair floating in the back. Really, this one was hard to critque because I love it. Well done!

Another one near the top of our camera list!? Damn you, I have to become a member to catch up. I'm still at the top though :) jk. I really liked this shot, especially how you switched the hands around. I thought it was great that it confused people.

Hey Lisa, I'm very disappointed on how this finished...it was my top pick for the week. :(

How did you all know....? :P

Actually, the sad thing about this photo is that only a few days later, we've decided we're going to split up. But it's OK, we're still friends.

Hi Lisa! :) (at least I'm pretty sure this is you). Great photo. I like the composition and crop very much, the way her lips are pressed against his hand which in turn is larger and curved around her hand. I personally would like to see this in b&w rather than toned and with a little less grain, but I have a feeling you did this deliberately, it's more your style. Regardless, I like this one a lot.

Hello Lisae... Overall I like the shot a lot. I may have preferred a little sharper focus, personally. At first glance, it looks like the man's arm is your arm, which is a little disturbing until I realized how the hands are situated.

although it's a nice idea, the expression on the face doesn't say "love" to me. it says more like "i wish this guy had washed his hands before we tried to take the picture"

Very nice photo and meets the challenge very well. I see a little bit of graininess, otherwise I really like this. 8

Hey Lisa, how are ya (I dunno, just guessing). Very nice shot because of the sumetrical fee of the hands. LIke the inclusion of the kiss. Good job. Jacko.

Hope you don't get more 'man hands' comments, Lisa! Good picture.
