it's always darkest before the lamp

Not sure how this fits the challenge but I like the image and title, if the subject were sitting in the chair with dim lighting, this would have worked very well for me. There's a story here which is something I like to see in a photo.

Oh, I love this. That Lynchian feeling of unease always does it for me. My fave. 10

Ah, you snuck in his house and hid in the shadows until he came home. Clever.

A fascinating image to delve into (final prepositions aside). The grainy black and white sets the mood, populated by this gentleman stepping away from us. The murkiness in the middle is further established by the echoed lighting, bright lamp on the left and frosted glass panel on the right, which latter sharply divides the picture and hints at an outside world. Is this a home, an institution, a waiting room? It's the man in the murk that resonates. How much do we know of our neighbors? Of the other? Of our own "selves", awash in perceptions and opinions, desires and fraught assumptions?
All this is so satisfying. Personal favorite of the challenge.

it is ok but doesn't represent next door person as the way he is standing.
