I took this photo of Mount Rainier out the airplane window on my way back from a business trip in Seattle. I did some slight cropping, converted to greyscale, and added a thin border.

Thanks for the ribbon. I knew it was a great shot when I saw it and was glad I was able to get the shot.

I saw the thumbnail version of the pic and thought to myself, "I think that's Mt. Rainier!" I was pleased to see it was. I am from the Seattle area and have flown by that mountain many times, and I, too, have tried to capture it. You did a great job and it is a joy to see a home-town treat. Your window must have been pretty clean, too! ;) We have a saying up there when the weather is clear: "The Mountain's Out"

A ribbon on a photo taken out of an airplane window? Gives me hope! Great photo, and good luck on future challenges.

Wow! Congrats! I gave this one a 10 as it stood out immediately. I did not realize it was Mt. Rainier - I live north of Seattle and used to fly every week to California - never saw this good of a shot! And no airline window smudge! Nice job.

Congratulations on your red. This is an image that many wish could be in their port. Great aerial capture.

I love photos like this where clouds look like a "sea" around a mountain peak. However it is a little too static for my taste with the peak being very central.
11/22/2004 09:29:09 AM
Lot of shining white snow is just gray in this one. The peak is a beauty however.

Out of the 600+ shots, this was my only 10. Just plain stunning... or should I say "plane" stunning, assuming this was shot from a plane? :) Anyway, congrats on an awesome shot!

This will do very well. Almost looks miniature, even you I know it's huge based on the position on the clouds. Would like to see a larger version. (6)

Very cool shsot. I like the unique above the clouds perspective. Just enough shadows to show features of the peak.

I love images of things rising above the clouds. And as a pilot I get to see them frequently. You've done an excellent job of capturing this. Very adamsesque. My best score so far!
