This really is quite and extraordinary shot. I love the colors and the layers of space: the layer under the fluid, the fluid, the floating fluid, and the reflected image. It's like four parallel worlds.

Doesn't really say "Impressionism" to me, rather it seems to suggest something much more modern. I do like this shot.

Great shot! I love the colours/composition of this image. Even the thumbnail size is outstanding. Only thing I'm not as keen on is the white border.

returning for comments:
This is just great. Extracting an impressionism feel strictly out of the reflections. Bumping up.

Love the colours on this. Lots of lines for my eye to follow make this almost hypnotic.

This is clearly one of the outstanding entries. I like the colors and detail. I am interested in what the original photograph looked like, and the post processing that was performed to achieve this look. 8

I really like the balance of thirds on this one, the contrast of the large and small circles against the lines of the painted prism, somehow the reflection in the green seemed too burnt/blurred compared to the rest of the picture, but I still had to give this an almost perfect.

I really don't see the Impressionism resemblance here.
This is a very nicely done abstarct photograph, but it
is clear in detail, which is not really Impressionistic in style.
Well composed photograph though! ((5))

A good one too...Love the color and cropping. The large drops provide a unique contrast against the streaked colors. Very neat use of shadow lines, perhaps a reflection of window panes? Great submission. -9-

I would associate this more with some of Georgia O'kefee(?) than impressionism. Don't know if that style had a movement name, but it looks like something from her work in the 20's. I actually have one that this looks like. The bubbles were much larger though and with softer colors. I like this a lot though and will put it in my favorites.

An unusual entry and one I like very much. There is so much richness in the colours, so much detail to the light and shadow and wonderful sweeping circular edges. I really like that shadowy grid that contrasts with the circular shapes. I think this is just superb and is in my top 3 this challenge.

A great image with fantastic colors. Not sure whether I would classify this as impressionism, more like an abstract. With impressionism I expect to see a real life scene, landscape, people, but then reduced in clarity, concentrating on color and light. This image is an exact and sharp representation of reality as far as I can judge.

Great shot! I'm not too sure about the title, but I can be a little slow. :) Colors are great and the border works well. Good stuff! 9

Smooth fluid lines and colour. Post processing does not disturb which I think is a plus. There is something about the composition that bothers me though. Can't really put my finger on it but perhaps a lower viewpoint or a wider shot?

this is ok, but it doesn't really hold my interest. to me, this leans more towards the abstract than impressionistic, and i'm not getting enough detail to appreciate what i'm looking at, other than shapes and colors.

I am extremely fond of this picture, which is now one of my new all-time favourite photos in DPC. I really hope you share your setup with us. I'm not sure how impressionist this is, but I'll overlook my misgivings. Gorgeous colours, fantastic composition, great textures, wonderful mood, spot-on! 10

Don't know what is it but the colors are so good and the compo is dynamic with these various shapes.

I like the photo but I don't feel that it fits into the Impressionist school - it's much more of a 20th Century art movement than 19th.

Hmmmm ... this looks like a "Jean" picture - the colours are absolutely lovely, as is the soft clarity of the picture. This is probably my favourite entry to the challenge, overall. And, whoever took this picture, I hope you don't mind if I talk just a little bit about two things that bother me: (1) the white edge of the oildrop to the left merging into the border - doesn't quite merge, but merges enough to be a little distracting; (2) the square arrangement of the window frame reflections - I was just wondering what the picture would look like if those darkish shadows (reflections) would be at more of a right angle to the diagonal colour lines - maybe that would make it too set-up looking, I don't know, but the combination of diagonals and squared off is throwing my eyes for a bit of a loop.

But, I think it's a lovely picture, with a good impressionistic mood, a moment of light and colour. 9 from me.

And, if this is a Jean picture, please do not be offended by my nitpicks above - I admire Jean's work tremendously. If it's someone else's picture, please take all of this as a compliment.

This is a stunning piece of artwork... truly. I don't know enough about impressionism to know if this totally fits the challenge (obviously, to me, it doesn't), but I'm not going to let my ignorance hurt this lovely photo. I can't wait to see how it was done!! Oh, and you should definitely make this a print or sell it as fine art.

Coming back and changing my thinking... I just read up a little about impressionism... and I just don't see how this is an impressionist piece. I *want* it to be impressionist, so I can give it a 10 because it's so cool... but I really don't think I can... I've got to change my score, I'm sorry. It's the best photo in the challenge, I just don't think it quite fits the challenge. I normally give those a 4, but I can't do that to this piece. 8

Love the colors and patterns in this. It looks a bit more like modern art than impressionism but never mind. It is great.
