I don't have any interesting toys.

But I like to do crafts.

And we got a dog in March.

Recently I've been knitting and crocheting again. I was looking through the web for ideas, and saw someone's head wrapped up in a ball of yarn.

It was a great photo!

It's impossible to do.

Well, impossible to do for a self portrait.

I tried. But not very hard. Then I thought maybe I could wrap it around something else and try to transplant it on me.

Nope.

It's also difficult to do a self portrait with a puppy. (and yes, he is a puppy. Just a large one. He's 8.5 months old.) He wasn't fond of the fire. Neither was I. It was 85 degrees outside. But it just seemed like it would make a good photo.

The new camera has way too short of a self timer. I had to push the button, run to the chair, try to get the dog to stay during this time (puppy. remember??), get the afghan situated and the yarn in the right position.

ARGH!

Did I mention it was hot outside, and I was doing this in front of a fire?

Did I mention that afterwards I found out how to trigger the new camera with my phone? That would have been handy to know.

Anyway. I figured that I really couldn't make crocheting interesting to people not interested in needle arts. But I tried to at least create something cozy.

Thanks for the comments!

Congratulations Wendy. That is an awesome afghan! Lovely big medallions, gorgeous colour. (Why oh why are they usually compiled from every colour under the sun?)
