Challenge: Snapshot II (Minimal Editing*)
Camera: Canon EOS-5D Mark III
Lens: Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS
Date: Jan 3, 2017
Aperture: 4.5
ISO: 6400
Shutter: 1/13
Date Uploaded: Jan 3, 2017

This is pretty much the definition of a snapshot. I brought my camera out to the bus stop with my son, because I noticed it was foggy before I left the house. turns out, it was freezing fog! The light was hitting the humid cloud just right as the cars were coming up the road towards our driveway, so I cranked the ISO high, took my shot, and ran back to the car because it was cold (-2F).

This is the second Minimal editing photo I am submitting this week shot at 6400 ISO because I had to do it handheld!

WOW! Two ribbons in a row! Not sure if I have ever accomplished that before. And they are both minimal challenges. How crazy!

Wow, you are just killing it here now that you're back! Two ribbons in a row, you'll have to change your handle to Minimal Mike :-) Oh and of course congrats on a fantastic entry.

I like this a ton, Mike, and I would never have thought Minimal in a thousand years. That's just to say that this looks flawless to me - I always make allowances for minimal but none needed for this. Congrats.

Somehow reminds me of the film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". Kind of eerie!

Congrats on the red, Mike. Thanks for including notes. I can see now that it does qualify as a snapshot - even though it looks like fine art. (You got a 7 from me. Sorry about my assumptions.)

Lovely shot. Doesn't really say snapshot to me.

I really really love the minimalism here, and the lovey stark contrast, in my top picks.

Okay, this is cool. My top pick so far. I like the minimalist of the composition. Like the B&W presentation. Has a somber fall/winter feel, but not ominous.

Looking at this longer, I think it strikes me because it feels familiar working those odd hours and driving home when no one else is on the road except that occasional car or lights from a business "over yonder."

Hope this does well for you.
