 Well holy cow! After a hiatus from DPC, I come back to enter a shot I took on a little field trip I took with my son during his winter break, and it gets blue?!? My first blue! Wow!

This is at Cave of the Mounds state park in Blue Mounds, WI. They don't allow tripods (unless you setup a shoot and pay a good amount of money), so I cranked the ISO up to 6400 and shot handheld. Thank goodness for image stabilization!

I also got lucky because my battery injector was flashing during the entire 50 minute walk through the caves. I figured at any moment it would die, and I would be left with only the iPhone. Glad it lasted!

For some reason, I had just noticed the day before this challenge ended that you had not received a Blue ribbon yet. And then the very next day, you got a Blue ribbon! Made me smile big. Congrats on your first Blue and hope you stick around. I've been to the Cave of the Mounds when I was a kid growing up in northern IL. Don't really remember it, but congrats on creating a great image from there.
