Thanks Jake for helping me with the crop and ditching B&W

This was an amazing episode. The size of the fish was enormous and the bird kept trying to swallow it and couldn't get it down. Finally he gave up and found a snake which was another amazing photo op.

O noes! It looks like this shot is going to make it onto my home page. I have not been able to change an image on my page in two years and this is definitely not one I am proud of.

We were hiking in a park in the Florida Keys and I had my camera with me. It was something that was unusual and hard to ignore but not something I want to look at. It is hard for 'quirky' images to get a good score. It has to be a "blockbuster" entry, never art.
Just complaining about a high score for a change!

* last day of voting and I need not worry since "Riot" came through with his magnifier and brought me back from a 6.8
to a 6.6. He is very astute and a
lifesaver. His 'average vote cast' is something to behold. Thanks Eugene!

Yes, not technically perfect, but photography is about telling a story and this tells a hell of a story!

Congrats on the TT, Jane. Nice capture. And hey, it managed not to make you're personal top 5, so you've got that going for you. :)

How's this going to end? Has he bitten off more than he can chew? Nice find.

you have some really nasty artefacts from the clumsy selection mask you used to do the fake background blur - it's especially visible around the feathers near the bottom of the scene, the heron's legs, and the one fin of the fish being artificially blurred.

That is frickin insane. Did the heron manage to get it down?
