Composed at the 20mm end of the ultrawide to make the most of the leading lines of the freshly mown grass aligning with the direction of the sun's rays on the building. Shot wide open to allow me to handhold with a good shutter speed at ISO100.

I tried to keep the edit as subtle as I felt the detail and natural colour of this image deserved. No crop. I used a second frame from the same handheld burst to patch over a few pedestrians and the large lawnmower making its way around the lawn, and tidied up some other distracting minor features with cloning - picked up a few leaves off the lawn, removed a couple of keep-off-the-grass signs in the distance, and cloned out a leaf blower carelessly left on the grass by the gardener. Curves work was very subtle, just a tiny tweak to blue levels in the deeper shadows and the far highlights, and a slight negative gamma adjustment overall. I felt some of the tourists were wearing too much bright red which caught the eye excessively, so I partially selectively desaturated some of their outfits. Then resize, and careful selective sharpen to remove any sharpening halos against the flat blue sky or the flat grey pavement. Finished and submitted with just six minutes to spare.

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that meets the challenge

What a lovely interesting building this is. I’m not sure about the bench, this is a conscious choice you have made to make your image more unique and give it a somewhat quirky feel but it doesn’t really work for me to be honest, I would have preferred the plain grassy expanse. The lighting is good in the way it is bringing out all the interesting detail in the front facade.

This is not a bad photograph but I think the composition could be better by cropping out what looks to be benches in the lower left corner. I also think more of the building should be captured in the landscape configuration. The exposure and focus are all well done.
