First vote a 3 - they must've really liked it..only one way to go is...up!

[Sep. 24th, 2016 08:07:29 PM

I have 100 more views than votes, just thought I'd mention that!

Pays to be at the right place at the right time~ I had another entry in for most of the fortnight but I wasn't happy with it so I decided to go out and see what I could grab the day before, and it seemed to pay off!!

Thanks for the nice comments and votes!

Congratulations Anita. The only 10 I gave in this challenge. I love how it looks as if "the guys" were inviting him to dance or like Jomari said honouring him. Very cool.

Then I looked at this again and again (yep, at least 2 of those 100+ exceeding views are mine :P ) and I noticed the car and the lady with yet another hat on the left of the print!

I don't know if the other hat was intended, but it gives the image a nice touch, just like GeorgesBogaert picture's scooters, given that an italian motorcycles manifacturer makes a scooter whose name is "Typhoon" :D

So, even though I still think the whole frame might have been moved "up" a bit, I say: well deserved second place :)

Congrats!

Thank you for the honest comment. I too was not comfortable with the close-crop to the top near the 1935 but the backdrop was actually exactly that, a backdrop around a construction site and it ended with the numbers. The crop didn't look good any other way. Glad You noticed the lady with the hat, I was wondering if anyone else would.

Congratulations Anita. I love the interaction here. The sailors look like they are honouring the old man, ushering him along his way. He on the other hand, seems oblivious. A really cool find, and nicely wrought.,

This is one for the front page. He may have been a sailor too.

WOW, this is amazing! Love it, such a outstanding find indeed. Well executed, I like the black and white effect, really adds impact to the over-all image. Bumping this one up. Good luck!
