 Shot using tripod, tried multiple vantage points and orientations, slowed shutter to blur water. This was the best in-camera starting point of all the attempts. Spring colors so bright I actually had to use desaturation to have it look less over-processed. Used DXO optics to convert nef to tiff file with slight boost in fine contrast. Photoshop LAB color space for slight steepening of a and b curves for better color separation in the rocks, mild sharpening, then convert to sRGB, luminosity mask with curve for mild lightening of darker mid-tones (zones 2,3,4), save for web. Conversion to jpg caused frustrating subtle shifts in brightness and color despite using "proof" view along the way. Submitted version is after much trial and error and still not exactly "right." Discovered it looks considerably different in different browsers. Then noticed that a Win 10 upgrade or update had reset color management from my monitor calibration profile to a generic profile. Fixing that reduced some, but not all, of the discrepancies. But it was fun looking at images across many years to finally find this one.

Just a bit tilted (I know perspective) but it could be tilted to the right a bit more...

Somebody should call the Sierra Club, alert them to all the wonderful photos in this challenge. It's truly amazing. What a beautiful planet we have to live on. Thanks for posting this shot.
