Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Indecision (Advanced Editing II)
Collection: Favorites - Ribbons
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Easton, CT
Date: Nov 2, 2004
Aperture: f/16
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/250
Galleries: Humorous, Studio
Date Uploaded: Nov 2, 2004

I wanted to do something a little more lighthearted (and avoid anything political or Coke/Pepsi). I ran to the toy store for a cheap chess set, and brought home a pair of Alien Bees strobes from the office. I already had the spiderwebs from Halloween, but I probably should have spent a little more time arranging them.

Shot in raw format with a Canon 28-105mm lens. Processing included a slight crop, levels, USM and HSL. I cloned out a few blemishes on the skin and wood, and added a little spot saturation.

Congrats on another ribbon Shannon! Very effective shot, well composed and executed. I'll have to get some of that spider web stuff--it obviously comes in handy. (Personally, I would have covered her in it, but she probably didn't want that did she? LOL).

It's a good shot with excellent exposure, and a great take on the theme.

Hmpfh - I can see that during voting it accepted my score (10), but not my comment...... wonder where that got to???
Anyway, I loved this photo because I can relate to it so well.
Thanks for the good laugh and the many giggles about it long afterwards.
Brilliant idea and congratulations!

Great Dof - perfect aperture for the shot. Lighting perfect. Web seems a bit too "contrived" and perfect - looks like the model is holding it (as she is.) But the idea was a great one!

For me this has the lot, the temptation to move, highlighted by the obvious eternity in making that decision. The exposure is spot on and well framed

Great image. I like the added touch of the cob web. Very imaginative thinking on such short notice.

Good concept. Technically, difficult to judge. You focused on the hand on the rook which is fine. But the bulk of the picture is the woman who is necessarily out of focus and I think it may detract from the quality of the picture. The colors and composition are great though. Good luck!
