Hours from the deadline and have realised you've probably seen enough dog pictures this last week. :-(

Absolutely right Tom - I focused on a fixed point and shot at 11fps as my wife threw the dog's toy past me. I have a number of more engaging dog poses - completely mid air for example - where she wasn't in the plane of focus.

It's one of the reasons I got the SL, to be able to get this sort of dynamic shot, my M240 wouldn't have made it so achievable.

I can only think you took zillions of shots and this is the one that worked. A dazzling accomplishment in any context.

Oh what a treat to see 2 dogs in the top 5. Always a pleasure to see your dog as it looks quite a character. The shallow DOF works really well here. Congrats on the HM.
