I immediately decided to go with food for this challenge, and have fun with the classic ginormous bacon-double cheeseburger porn shot of big thick patties, melting cheese and bacon etc...then a HUGE bite or two (I think two, I was hungry) taken out of said burger before I got this shot. Man that was one huge burger!
Used The Keg's ridiculously huge patties (4 for $14 CDN) for the meat, and had already shredded the lettuce, sliced onion and tomato, bought American cheese and pickles sliced lengthwise. I cut two bacon strips in half then 'wove' them into a little grid, cooked em up. They held together beautifully.
Originally I was going to go with homemade fries and a soft drink in a heavily condensed ice-filled glass behind, but felt it would be too cluttery so left them out.
Did basic lighting on white backdrop and flash to illuminate burger. Had to dial down the strobe a lot!
pp: shot RAW, crop, brightness/contrast, vibrance/saturation, dodge and burn, some cloning, resize, sharpen, save for web

Cor blimey Susan, I bet that kept you going for an hour or two! How do you keep your lovely figure with all that maple syrup and ginormous burgers? It stands out well against the white backdrop. Looking at Bear music’s comment I wonder if it is over-sharpened or its the highlights of flash that are evident amongst the textures? It looks as though the sharpening has adversely accentuated those highlights making them more obvious than is probably desirable. What I am more concerned about is the chromatic fringe on the edges particularly on the right, it does detract somewhat for me.
The things you have to do in the name of art, thanks for your submission Susan.
hrmm, burger looks a tad overdone. make mine medium rare, please. On a more serious note, I love the concept and like the image, but it's oversharpened on my monitor...
