What a wonderful shot Sonja. Another emotive image. I'm one of the ones who didn't get it. I'm so dense I was looking for butterflies on Lila Mae's costume trying to find a connection to the title! Good thing I didn't vote :) I Love it Love it Love it!

I absolutely love this picture. And it just goes to show how true talent gets overlooked becuase "I don't think it met the challenge" voters give low scores for not appreciating the work and putting too much weight in the technicalities.

I knew this was yours! Absolutely outstanding, both conceptually and technically. Gotta scratch your head over those low votes.

Thanks for the votes, peeps! (hug)

I really don't understand how nobody would get this shot.

She is watching a dancer on stage with butterflies in her tummy, knowing she is next to be in the spotlight. Will she go out and give her performance or will she walk away with stage fright? It happens alot with these little ones. I guess maybe since I am a performer I understand it.

I would connect more with this picture if the subject were hesitation or nerves or something. Indecision...it's a stretch. I like this picture though. The lighting is great.

Challenge link: medium - image is title-driven, so the relevance would be fairly lost without it. I can't see her expression which would show how indecisive she is.

Image critique: a very attractive shot - beautiful lighting and nicely caught. Well composed and a proficient photo.

Out-of-challenge appeal: I would probably revisit this and I'm sure you'll get a few favourites.

excellent photo. this really gives the impression of being undecided. "should I... or maybe not?" It also really states "anticipation" very well. Good exposure in the dark areas, and the highlights are wonderful

What an incredible picture. I'm adding this to my favorites right now! The pose, the composition, the lighting, the depth of field, all work so perfectly to make a charming scene. Good luck with the challenge. A 10 if I could score.

Nice sepia tone. The black (curtain?) to the right is very distracting, but otherwise a classic image.
