Sometimes you just work with what Mother Nature gives you and make the best of it. What to do when the sky is like a blank canvas? Spruce up that overcast sky with a colorful splash of floral color! One can either reflect the mood of the dreary sky or one can look for the little things to brighten and color your day.

I really love how the purples and pinks of the delphinium pops off of the overcast sky. I could have increased the DOF to have all flowers in focus, but I am exercising my artistic voice by chosing not to. Opting instead to draw the main focus on the flowers in the forefront with the flowers in the backdrop in a 'supporting' role.
