Vastly underrated image, this. It fell prey to the DPC mindset that an image has to have a focal point to be "good". This is a shot wherein everything int he frame is the "subject" and no one element stands out, and it's very well done IMO. In the "landscape/natural light" mentorship thread we recently touched on this approach; our "assignment" was "Landscape Without Subject".

I really like the shapes and assortment of colors and patterns in the shot. It almost looks like wrapping paper or the like, with the whole frame filled up. Maybe it wasn't bizarre enough for some folks, because I don't see why this would score anything below a 6. I like it!

I like this subject and your composition and focus are great. I think it suffered a little because the light was so diffuse and lacking shadow. Getting that right is tough to do unless you're in a studio setup or something like it. Nice job. (I don't get why some people would think gourds aren't bizarre!)

What I like:
-Believe it or not, but the composition
-The subject
-The colours
What i dislike:
-The fact that the picture is not PARALLEL to the lense
-As I understand it's neither funny nor amazing or bizzare to me, however the shot and perspective themselves are. So i guess the shot was supposed to be bizzare on it's own.

I give a 6, why? Becuase I am not totaly sure it meet's the chalange.

Nice colors and textures. Very interesting idea. Not at all displeasing to look at, but something is just not "popping" for me. I can't put my finger on it, perhaps different lighting or cropping? I like the subject, maybe you should explore it further, I feel a lot of potential in this.
