Thank you for the lovely comments. This is my beautiful niece who tirelessly models for me. She is growing up too fast and will be gone soon.

I am not very good with portrait stuff. I really like to use natural light as I did here in my cluttered garage with a black sheet in the background. I really had to crop this down a lot and no choice but convert to B&W. I don't like having to work too hard on an image to make it work like I did with this one. Most of the credit goes to her with her natural grace, beauty and knowing what to do.

I have to say that this portrait is one of the most beautifully lit and composed shot I've ever seen. Simply spectacular. Reminds me of the 20s / 30s/ 40s.

This is terrific. It was one of my top scores in the challenge -- sorry I failed to get back and comment earlier. I don't want to hear any more "I am not very good with portrait stuff" nonsense. We do not see many grahamgator portraits, but the occasional ones we get of your husband and others are very good. Keep it up.

Wasn't sure about this one. Composition and light are beautiful, but there seems something odd with the skin of the face and lips (due to PP?). Sorry when I'm wrong about it. But congratulations on the Yellow.

When I first saw this I let out an audible sigh. What a sublime photograph! Congratulations on the yellow. Well deserved.

One day I hope to be "not very good with portrait stuff" like you. And yes, your niece is a natural, but that doesn't diminish your "hard work". Congratulations.

LOL...I voted on this and the other 3rd place ribbon winner about 10 minutes before rollover. I gave both a 10. Strange to think of all the power I had to make one of these 4th place!

I love the simplicity in this one. At first I wasn't fond of the "hidden" eye, now I quite like it.
