| A thank you goes out to everyone that voted and commented on this photograph. I was very please with this picture because the only editing done was [auto level, auto contrast, and resize to 640x530. NO other editing done and it showed me that my camera [and I ] have the possibilities to take imo Great Pictures without having to do a lot of editing. The F2.8 lens really did a good job with a small DOF. I’m very happy with my score; it is my best so far. Again thank to everyone! |

Nice uncluttered background thanks to the shallow DOF and further enhanced by the backlighting.
Hope voters give this image the time and score it deserves.

| This is beautiful. I love the soft background against the perfectly sharp butterfly and the flower it is on. And the backlighting adds a lot of life to the butterfly. I hope to see this picture right up near the top! Good luck in the challenge! |

| I have certainly seen, (and taken), many butterfly photos, but I like this one particularly well. The lighting, color, composition all contribute to give this a lovely soft, airy quality, with colors that look old-fashioned, almost hand-tinted. The way the butterfly is hanging off the branch out into the "negative space" area, gives this composition that "something unexpected" that I love to see in photos. Thanks for another favorite! |
