Greetings from the Last Minute Critique Club
by Inspzil

Composition - As a longtime fan of the Triscuit, I'll say that it is one of the best crackers on the market still and with a can of easy-cheese is one helluva snack. The composition is simple, uncluttered but detailed in the depiction of every minute detail in the cracker. There were a number of ways to depict the cracker in terms of angles, but you chose the direct straight on approach probably having something to do with the challenge title. The part of this picture I like the best is the lighting and exposure. Masterfully done.

Photography - Every grain of salt is accounted for on this one. Great crisp clear macro, and again, the exposure is excellent

Processing - Doesn't look like much was done with this. Which, if you did do a lot, is quite a compliment.

Overall - Simple, basic. I think you maximized your score with the subject you chose to use. I think nabisco should consider this shot on the front of its boxes. Well done - Bob

great great shot, would've preferred it borderless.

Love this! I think the focus is incredible and the background and borders were excellent choices. You've taken what is an everday object (I just got hooked on triscuits - lol) and made it a work of art! Great job!

Great use of lighting. Wonderful details.

Very simple (including the bordre). I like it. I'm trying to decide if I'd like it a tad better if it wouldn't fill the frame so tightly (less tight crop). Just something to try out later. Good luck. Jacko. 8

That is probably the best closeup picture of a triscuit that I had ever seen (and probably the only). Your focus is razor sharp and the detail is excellent. I can't give you full marks though, because only one thing bothers me. IT'S A PICTURE OF A TRISCUIT! Nice job, anyway.7

Great macro of the Triscuit. I think it may have worked better at an angle. I think the border takes away from the subject.

The subject of this photo is very interesting. You need a little more light in this photo.

My favorite in the square challenge. I like the detail and contrast in this square.

Best Triscuit photo I've seen recently! I was at the grocery store yesterday and I walked by the Triscuits and immediately thought of your photo! It almost made me buy some! I bought Oreos instead (the white fudge covered ones!). Now I have a belly ache! OK, back to the real reason I'm here... Close up photography is tough to do well, and you have done a great job with your lighting of the cracker, focus, DOF, all is great. Your background is not black and has some texture (or color variations) to it. That's fine with me, but it clashes some with your black border (IMO). Overall, a nice image and I give it an 8. Good Luck!

This is a good image. I like the clearity that you achieved. The black backround brings the square shape out nicely. Good job.

this photo is ok but i think it could use more color

I do not really like your border choice. I find it distracting. Triscuit is nice and sharp! jgillard6
