I was concerned about this, because I thought that some might think it's not enough about the feathers, but about the birds. But it fascinated me what happens to the feathers during a landing like this. Look what happens to the wings and all the different buffeting of the feathers in the wind it's creating. It was a very overcast, slightly rainy day (had to up the contrast in pp since there was none that day!) And though I could have zoomed in more on the feathers, or even cropped to just part of the wings, I liked having the context for the shot.

I love watching the osprey with babies. I haven't spent hardly any time here at all this year, so I was surprised how big the babies had gotten. The parents take such good care of the babies. It's fun when the get old enough to be seen over the nest!

What a great shot. It's too bad the wing is slightly cropped, but great detail in the photo! ETA: was the monitor that gave me a clipped wing, not the photo.
