Fine image Mark!

Perhaps some people do not realize that this is Pemaquid Point light rather than Castle Hill (or perhaps they are being tongue and cheek and I didn't catch it). I don't know of many lights with the charm that Castle Hill has, and also so close to the shoreline. But it's a fine, and different shot of Pemaquid than the usual reflection shots (I'm guilty of that).

And you had a better (clouded) sky than I did!

(Also, not that it matters, except in the interpretation of my title...this is sunrise, Sailors Delight was sunset, "Red skies at night, Sailors Delight!"!)

In the end, you took home the Yellow, tied with the original! Congratulations.

Indeed. And why did you plant those trees and build those buildings? It was a much more powerful photo as a solitary figure cut against the sky.

Nicely done and better (more natural) than the original. But you missed the obnoxious sig in the center. I guess you must care how your image looks. bump

I prefer your processing to the original but it lacks the impact of the lone lighthouse. Still a nice capture. One of my favorites thus far.

I like the right side of this image better than Neil's, but the rocks on the left seem a bit flat while he got some nice tones out of his; the lighthouse here seems a bit cramped up into the corner while his nails down the horizon line. still, this is one of the best images yet and the right side is great.

Nice job reproducing this with a different place. I really like the addition of the sun in your image.
