I don't like this philosophy

[Apr. 10th, 2015 01:05:09 PM]

The comments make an interesting reading.

This is an Easter procession that comes from a religious order that used to accompany men just about to be executed.

This is the second time I saw it. I still find it mostly disturbing.

a 9 from me. I found the image evocative.

You might not like the philosophy, but you wear it well...

This is great! I hope you explained the story. I want to know what in the world was going on here. The guy with the look on his face like, "Whaaaat..." makes it!

Great "Snapshot" and b&w street scene.

A great street shot, lots of realism and character.

I know this is a religious order, but it's difficult not to find such masked hoods menacing. The stoic face peering at us actually feels like a comfort, convincing us that nothing dangerous is happening. In fact, to him, the photographer is more interesting than the parade. I find this tension between event and bored viewer of event keeps me looking between the two, and thus creates an energy in the divided image. It also suggests to me that the man and the photographer and the viewer are in their own parade, just as masked and mysterious.

wait a minute... I think I just saw a pony...

Wasn't sure what this was for a split moment, but the guy just peeking out made this photo, usually, it is kids doing that, but to see an adult peek out is pretty amusing.

Makes me want to be there to see what is going on with the march

At first glance this looks very ominous and then you see the man, relaxed and more interested in the photog than the parade. Without him, this is eerie and forbidden and the photog is in peril for capturing the scene. Oh where the imagination takes us. Nice job.

goodness, what have we here. It's funny that the innocent bystander seems more interested in the photographer than the parade in front of him.

A Mr Bean moment to follow, I'm sure.

There's a ton of stuff going on in this image, from the guy peering at the camera to a reverse KKK religious procession. Onlookers, a welter of architecture and even a snatch of Picasso over the left shoulder of the foremost marcher. It's a scene out of a Fellini movie, cacophonous and irrepressible. The viewer is swept along with this joyride. Terrifically fun and enchanting.

Nice timing for a peek-a-boo capture!

What a joy! All these sombre spectres, and an impish face photobombs their reverent gravitas so wonderfully! This is, where? Spain? Somewhere I'd like to go, anyway. Full of fun and interest. Thank you.

This is disturbing!!

The guy with the glasses steals the show.

Nearly brilliant. Fabulous scene, great face but for me the quality of the image doesn't live up to what you have captured. It may not bother the man himself, but for a gear head like me... (A decent 6 nonetheless).
