Very cool. Is this a lava tube?

Yep, this is a lava tube right outside of Kailua-Kona airport. It's about a mile west of the airport (opposite direction of Kona) and it's right on the side of the highway. You can walk all the way through it and come up the back end of it.

It's actually Eurydice who glanced back at Hades.

Maybe there are 2 versions? The one I know is that Orpheus glanced back before Eurydice had exited the underworld forgetting that both needed to have exited and Eurydice was taken back forever.

******************

Spent the long weekend in Waikaloa and Kona and grabbed a few shots of this lava tube. It's normally really crowded but got lucky to get this shot with just my friend standing at the entrance. There was about a 30 second window before other visitors would be in the shot.

Thanks everyone for the votes and comments and thanks Julie for the bling!

comments ----WOW! very cool image that keeps you attached to it. The composition and lighting draws you all the way thru the picture but doesn't just leave you out the end, you are drawn back in and around to see other stuff. Great Job
