I was exploring the Barkor Square in the rain. A small door opened into a non-descript subterranean room. On a whim, I decided to enter. As I descended the stairs I saw the room was filled with these small candles. What a great photographic opportunity!

The greatest change in this photo from the original is the composition. The original is a much looser frame. Other than a dramatic shift in composition, I made the following minor alterations:

- exaggerated the blue in the flame
- darkened the tips of the black wicks to give them greater depth
- darkened the top of the frame
- darkened the dark areas around each candle. They were matte black and deserved to be richer!

I'd like to be able to SUBMIT a bit bigger photo. Unfortunately, I'm limited by both resolution AND file size.

But, as usual, I'm extremely thankful that you judge my work not on the work itself but by the rigid limitations of a 150K file size limit. :)

Definately different. I love the background. The slight reflections of the flames on the wall look nice. Fire is hard to perfect, but I think you did a nice job. I also like the random blue throughout the photo. nice. ~Heather~
