This shot is a happy accident. I had Hubby posing for me... trying to get triplet hims in different areas of the kitchen, cooking, washing dishes, and cleaning stuff. He was very patient with my repeated "takes".

I got a big mess. Gave up. Hit the 30 second timer and poured him a glass of wine for his pay. The light is from the open refrigerator to the right. The rest of the kitchen was dark.

*sigh*

I wanted to learn something new... fought to get something all day... then fought again tonight... gave up and caught it by accident.

Figures. LOL!

I love it how he's turned his back on the "Life is good" sign in the background and is totaled focused and absorbed by the glass of wine. I know the wine glass is skewed by the wide angle lens, but what's an alcoholic to do? *grin* It seems to fit the longer I look at it.

I don't think it has a chance against all of the star sweeps and folks who know what they're doing and have a filter for long daytime exposures. But... I'm entering it anyway. Stranger things have happened. This might get over 5.6.
:D

A good use of the technique to tell a story. Nice image (and relationship to the title).

Not a fan of the wide angle distortion here. Might have been more interesting if you were to capture the person in a couple places within the frame across the exposure time, contemplating the glass from different distances.

the scene doesn't say someone dealing with addiction to me.
