I think I should have called this "Storm in the Concrete Jungle" Then maybe people could look past lightning and also see my interpretation of why I found this suitable for the challenge

The challenge simply states Concrete. It's a sharp blade being judged by the interpretation of this rather than the photo itself when despite all the lightning.. in frame we have many buildings and even a solid concrete structure. What better way to add spice to a boring subject such as concrete.

Thanks for the votes. You have to love DPC for it's voters. Ill never leave this place but understand completely the sentiments of people frustrated by this. In this challenge there are many excellent pics but if judged purely on concrete.. then they also should fall short of the theme.. The challenge states Concrete.. not Concrete and grass, or leaves or people.. and and... Yet when voting surely you think the image through and the nuances of the theme and the photographer's intentions. That's if you are not speed voting at least.
If you want to score on DPC.. you more often than not have to think for the voter and not think Photography. That's why Don does such and excellent job as does other threads in showing and pointing out other fantastic work.

Magnificent, if this is authentic. It's really too good to be true, but I am hoping this is real. Very not nice if this is a lightning effect. Be careful out there and good luck.

I'm wondering if others seem to think this is more about the lighting than the concrete, because I do!

Still nevertheless a good image, but not for this challenge.

Nice capture of the lightning strike. I love this image, but not sure that it is really about concrete. Yes, I realize that there is plenty of the stuff in the image, but the main subject is really lightning. That being said, I still think this is an excellent image and kudos to you for being out in the storm. An 8 from me.

That is a gorgeous photo, absolutely stunning. And yet, if you showed it to 100 people and asked each one to give you FIVE keywords describing it, I believe you wouldn't get a single "concrete" amongst those 500 words.

Still an awesome image, though :-) Will have to carefully think about the score for a bit first.
