You know... I'm sorry you don't like my IR shot because it's not the first time you've ever seen it, but it's the first time I've ever done it, and I don't think it's fair to vote down something by comparing it to something you've seen before. How many ideas on here are really original anyway?

I really enjoy the look of infrared, and look forward to doing more of it. I understand that this is not the place to showcase such work, though. Thanks, all, for your comments.

I'm not crazy about the blue cast throughout the image, but the infra-red effect is very cool (no pun intended).

IR now ... I think it depends for so much of its impact on never having seen it before, and for me I don't find enough other interrest here: the composition is strong, effective, and the quality of light you've caught is nice, but not really a winner for me.
