It's really tough emulating Jed's style. Not just in the unique way he processes his photos but the feeling he captures in them as well. I feel like I didn't quite do him justice with this shot but I'm glad it did well.

Kind of a lucky shot. I was out taking sunrise shots of the skiffs and as I was loading up my car to leave, this guy was done working on his skiff and walking back to shore. I pulled the camera back out and only had time to grab this one.

Thanks for all the votes and comments and thanks Don for hanging this in your gallery.

Not that I know odriew's style, but I think this image is the closest of the pack that is in his style. I find this to be serene. The fisherman in the bottom right is not the central focus of the photo, but he adds context to the scene. Without him, there would not be a story to the image. That's how I find odriew's style; there is a figure that adds context and is integral to the photo, but not central...

On a side note, if this was processed differently, I would have to say this has earmarks of Cuttooth. In any case, this is my top pick for this challenge.

Excellent scene, I like the human element of the man with the buckets. Wonderful light, and very well processed.

Fantastic capture!! Really wonderful shot of daily living without manipulating the image. Normally, having a subject so close to the edge of the frame and moving/looking out of the frame is frowned upon, compositionally, but here it works. Give the shot a sense of movement and also mystique. Very nice light and processing, too.

lovely shot with an interesting composition. I love how we can't see the land - just water. A great story that meets the challenge very well. 8

An elegant image in spite of its subject. The elegance of living one's life in the terms it was given, I suppose.
