|From correspondence a couple years ago with Christophe, I know that his surname, Kiciak, is Polish for 'kitty'. And he owns cats and clearly likes them a lot as they often appear in his work.
So, I wanted to make a cute image of a cat photographer. What better cat to use than my slightly cross-eyed blue lynx Birman, Galena, as a model, though her fur sister, the bluepoint Lily, makes a cameo in the b/w portrait. Galena is the much more sociable of the two cats while my little TigerLily is much more of a cat's cat.
Getting Miss G to pose with the ol' Pentax was the hardest part. Pretty much everything else was easy. The portrait sitters are barn kittens at a local farm, Lily, and the dog is a lovely and sweet-mannered chocolate Lab who belongs to one of my longest-term clients. Once I finished work for the day I took the dog into the backyard and got a shot within a few frames :-)
pp: Yea gads...do I have to? Really? Nothing fancy. Pretty much all the individual elements are basic in terms of processing, with some warp on the protraits as though the wind were blowing, and mashing another paw onto Galena. Honest!
