My wife. Paying homage to this photo by odriew:

The effect of the soft focus everywhere but her face was achieved by unmounting the lens (m42 mount has a longer flange-sensor distance so the adapter is quite long), and holding it in front of the camera at a slight angle.
Camera was on a tripod, used 10sec self timer and blocked light leakage with my other hand.

This is fantastic. I've tried the "free-lensing" thing, but have done nothing but fail at it.

You did great, Man. I know I told you I don't much like commenting after challenge results are announced, but rules are made to be broken. I think odriew's correct about your skyline; should be one thing or the other. If I scroll that bit out the top of my monitor, the picture becomes stronger. You are doing some very good stuff, and making great comments. My compliments and respects on both counts. Thank you.

Pretty! I'd like to see the blur effect start a bit lower, away from her face completely. Otherwise love the processing you've done here. bumping to 8

I have to give this a 10 since I think it is the real deal-not a forgery. If it is not Odriew's you deserve an 11. Beautiful.

A nice, soft portrait with some lovely even lighting! A little strong on the blur/glow effect, but that's a personal taste.

A beautiful portrait. She seems pensive and perhaps reluctant to be photographed. The processing is fantastic and trying to read her mind is inevitable.

I love the narrow focus and the post processing creating a warm, dreamy atmosphere. Sorry to sound nitpicky but I think it would have been better if the horizon was cropped out or if there was a little bit more sky.
