Always very happy to get a physics lesson from the master, especially for no charge :)

This makes me smile, what could be better than that.

Paul, lovely catch! A genuine photograph. Your POV makes the zebras look like finger prints and you've included 5.

And the nice thing about this sentiment is that you can never be proved wrong.

Ever.

I wish there were fewer right angles.

mariuca says "bouquet." I was thinking a nice piece of music, something clear like Poulenc or light like Satie.

your recognition is as delightful as the zebraic interpretations.

My iPad ate or pulverized a lot my comments.
I simply loved this bouquet. It made me think of its missing parts that creates a mandala.

As to meeting a challenge topic: the struggle at DPC is to think of a given task and make a photographic image. No small feet. But if meeting a challenge results in a meaningless representation of a required theme - a banana, a right angle, a wooden figure, a drop of water…- then this site does not meet its goal. It should be a DNMG = does not meet goal.
After all, what do we do with an image that just met its topic?

Thank you Don ( I mean the nygold Don). I understood your point. But I'd much rather alienate, disappoint or baffle a healthy proportion of viewers than I would please everybody. I believe that the most interesting and meaningful outcomes - in photographs as in anything - derive from disagreement, and not from consensus. Universal appeal equals artistic and intellectual death.

I also mentioned the right angles "I just wish there was more constrast with the right angles".
It wasn't because I wanted to see more of them, I wanted to see this at or near the top and I was affraid it wouldn't score well due to the lack of contrast in the right angles.

That's why it was a wish.

"Would have liked a little more emphasis on the tiles to give you the right angles."

"I see many right angles, but I don't feel that they are the focal point of this photo."

It's sad to me that some people think meeting the challenge as bluntly as possible is more important than creating a good photograph. This is clearly not about DNMC, since both comments admit that you have right angles, and neither comment references the vague description, "Create a photograph where right angles produce the strength of the image," which I could easily argue that you accomplish.

Creativity blossoms from restrictions. DPC voters want to bring those restrictions back, after the fact, and beat down the creativity with it.

People have always been like this, superstitious, fearful, craving order no matter how arbitrary. Maybe I should start a new career in satire.

10 from me as well. How can this not grab you at fist sight?

A fan of wannabe right angles, being so definite about it that the tiles have given up. Dead and still, but then one sees the swish..

Bloody marvelous.

I suppose they're on your stoep having stale bread?

Like a sunflower through an acid lens. Phenomenal. Didn't get a chance to vote fully in this challenge.

I see many right angles, but I don't feel that they are the focal point of this photo. With that said, I really like the image, just not for this challenge.

The most relevant angles are not right angles at all. The animals look as if they've been guillotined.

Talk about unique! One of my top picks. I just wish there was more constrast with the right angles. Still gave it a 9. Well done.
