This is a clear plastic pencil/pen holder standing in a bowl of orange colored water about an inch high (the water, not the bowl).
I started off using 2 flashes, one on each side of the bowl. Results weren’t very satisfying… After about five minutes the batteries in one of the flashes died on me and I didn’t have any loaded ones in reserve.
Strangely enough, after continuing using only one flash, the results were better. Go figure….
On the morning the challenge started, I checked my score and had, wait for this, a NINE. This nearly sent me and my nerves through the roof….

Thanks SO much for the super comments and score. It’s been a good, albeit nerve-(w)racking, week ;-)

Congrats on the ribbon Irene! The bold oranges is one thing that makes this image so visually appealing. Great color and great clarity.

Congratulations Irene! Beautiful photo. I imagined this to be a piece of a car tail light, ha, I was wrong.

This is one of my top favorites... (already voted)

I can not even imagine what this came from so my guessing game has been lost on this one... looks like it came from some motorcycle or something
This is just so vibrant and I love the tone and sharpness to this .. just awesome

I have no clue what this is, but like the effect. The prominent foreground reminds me of car tail light from the 50's.
