So the idea popped into my head 'Thought Balloons!' - the ones you see in comics. Set out to do the shoot. Bought sharpies (silver and black) and black balloons and blue (for blue ribbon) balloons. Drawing the words when it is not inflated is easy. The drawback is that it becomes really faint when blown up. I can't tell you how *stressful* it is to draw on a balloon with a sharpie when it is fully inflated. Several not cool sounding scrapes on the blue balloon (which for some reason was thinner) and I finally finished the one blue balloon. I did two for each just in case one popped.

Cut out the speech balloon 'arrows' out of thick cardboard and colored with sharpies. I feel the not smooth look gives it more of a 'comic book' feel.

I wish I did a better job on the paper/silver decor sticker on the back of the laptop. I didn't want to peal the decorative art decal (off of it because it would damage the design so I covered it with a print out I did on decorative paper and then taped to it. Looking back after the shoot there are several things that I feel are sloppy but I was ill and my back was on fire from a prior injury so was not thinking straight.

Thinking it over....I should have skipped hanging the grey striped cloth backdrop and left the white wall so it would contrast better, plus I could have put black duct tape around the scene as a 'frame' like they have in comic books. Oh well, one does what one can in a limited time frame of a week...or in my case, only had a two day window as that the weekend was the only opportunity to get the shot.

Thanks to all those who voted fairly. Over 7 comments is a rarity these days so my thanks to those who took the time to share their thoughts.

This made me smile! However, I think the balloons are rather lost in the background rather than being the focus of the picture.
