 Rainy day, spot the setting sun rays, rush to the river park, get a few clicks of the rainbow. The colors look a little skewed but it's because the sunset was giving everything a nice peach hue.
The tree is a Sabal Palm, one of the trees native to this area. It's the state tree.

Here's the camera file resized only.

It was shot with the 8mm Rokinor fisheye, which is the only lens in my kit that allows me to capture a complete rainbow in portrait format.
It was also published in the local newspaper, and has about 4,500 hits and 75 shares on Fb.

This is so otherworldly that changed my idea about Florida! And rainbows.

I was curious how you shot this, since I couldn't find any distinctive shadows indicating that the sun was in the "correct" direction, and the small patch of blue suggested the possibility of a substantially clear sky above. I take it from your notes that it was somewhat more overcast than it looks?

Otherwise, I agree with Don -- it looks unreal, and got one of my highest votes. :-)

This photo is absurd. Ridiculous. It shouldn't exist. All I can do is give it a blue ribbon.

This vividly colored, almost luridly so, scene looks like a page from a Chamber of Commerce booklet. That's not saying I don't like it. It's verve and ebullience carry the day.
