 Photographer’s Notes
My wife said, “I can’t believe you want to take a picture of me for your ‘Horror” entry!!!”

I said, “Don’t worry, no one will recognize it’s you when I’m done and I promise it won’t end up on face book.”

She consented and the rest is Photoshop.

So there are nine photos composited here: 1) A dramatic HDR cloudy sky created from 7 images; 2) My wife’s face; and 3) Her hand. Lot’s of blend modes plus lots of masking plus lots of dodging and burning yielded this. I don’t feel like I’m very good at Expert Editing but maybe this will be good enough to linger over. It does capture my fear of Alzheimer’s, the fear of being trapped inside myself but being unable to express myself … unintentionally hurting all those around me. We had a family friend like this and the prospect scares the willies out of me.

FWIW: At full resolution (5590 x 4258) the resulting composite image PSD file is 1.9 GB on disk and the DPC-sized PSD image (800 x 609) is 30.2 MB and displayed here, 300 KB,
