Excellent composition! I like the added cheese wedge on the rim of the glass. Reading the comments below, seems people either liked or disliked the shadow, those who disliked it probably don't realize the difficulty of lighting this shot. You have done well with your one diffused light. Your glare on the glass is nonexistent, and you have no areas in the background that stand out as too bright. I really like how you've centered the shot and added the festive color.

The only thing that really stands out for me is your choice to use F/2.8 with such a close shot. Would a smaller aperature of F/8 have worked better so the whole straw would be in focus? Some shots work well with a large aperature, but when being in this close, and with so much detail, in my opinion, it's best to capture as much as you can within your camera's limit.

All in all, I like this shot. Your studio work is done well!

Now, where are my cookies to dunk into this?

I like everything about this except the shadow.....3rd place
(it's still a 10 to me)

Like the style, but not the shadow.

great shot!

The shot is very well taken. Good lighting and focus. The background and the shadows are perfect. Interesting composition. You know, I´m a VERY big fan of borders but I think this yellow one steals too much attention from the motiv. Perhaps a white one had been better? Anyway a great job and that gives high score from me.

challenge met, and creative. centering your subject works well here, the cheese, straw and the decorative glitzy thing break up the symmetry well, and help balance the overall shot. i like the colors, and that you have echoed them in the frame (especially the thin red line), but, personally, i think the yellow part of it is just a little too wide. your focus and colors are good, one other (very minor) nitpick would be that the shadow is cropped a tad at the side, it's so little that it looks accidental. either crop it more or keep it all in, i think, especially since you have such a plain background that the shadow is pretty noticeable. overall, i really like your photo, sebastian :)

Nice soft light, good composition, bright colours. This is a good photo, for what it is. It doesn't grab me thematically.

I may have liked it better without the shadow, but it's still an excellent shot.

Really great! One of my favorites this week. I love the swiss cheese and the shadow of the glass. Excellent!

Ok now this deserves a 10 for sure. I wanted to do one similar, but..... I love the composition and the shadow work here. Excellent work and GL.

nice photography.

Beautiful shot. Love your use of composition, color contrasts, and lighting (especially the shadows repeating the shapes). Like the color in teh frame, maybe I would have made it just a tad bit thinner, to be nit-picking. 9

That's original! The one thing I'd change: the shadow is distracting. Maybe consider using more than one light source next time. Still a very nice composition. Jacko. 9 Good luck.

good composition however the shadow is kind of distracting.. I think a dark colored background might work better... that would give the milk something to contrast against and perhaps hide the shadow... then again I would have to see it like that to be sure... try it and see :o) good luck

Very neatly done, good background lighting arrangment, would be appropriate to illustrate an article on diets. A little to solemn to be festive.

on one hand this is perfect, composition, light, focus, meeting challenge, simplicity. On the other, it really kinda annoys me...something very 80s about it.

The cheese on the glass is a great touch. Wow, I can't believe how CREATIVE some of you are!!

Festive looking drink and pretty yellow as are all the colors. I like the creative idea, and I love the shadow. You really did well shooting the glass....great light.

Great lighting and good balance, IMO the border is not quite right for this shot.
