This is a candid of a couple on my train ride home. I noticed an odd intimate interaction between them that I tried to capture.

[May. 7th, 2014 08:47:21 PM]

I recently saw the Finding Vivian Maier movie. If you want inspiration to go out and look for interesting scenes on the street I recommend it.

I am really happy with how this is doing. The best I had hoped was that this might connect with a small niche of voters. I feared many voters might react the same as my wife (she looked confused and declared it "creepy"). Thanks for the comments, favorites and bling. I am excited and humbled.

Mark, when you take these photos, do your subjects know/care that you are photographing them? Are you shooting from the hip?

A very intense portrait full of suspense. Their expressions are amazing. I also love how it's framed. I can see it ending up in a history of photography book in the future. My only 10 so far (voted earlier).

And this is for you:

Super tones, lovely intimate portrait. I do feel a little like a voyeur, but that is what gives this photograph its intensely personal feel.

a frozen moment allowing us to make our own story. I appreciate the interference within the composition.

Awarded for the April Free Study.

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. This is an astonishing image - like a movie scene. Such intensity.
2. I've been watching '24' from the beginning (it's new to me) and have noticed the shooting through the scenery camera shots - that covert feeling is captured here too.
3. Nailed focus and exposure - I'm guessing you didn't have too long to compose either.
4. Fabulous and well-balanced composition - what an angle you have.
5. Super tones - perfect choice for this image.

Outstanding photograph. I'm looking forward to finding out who shot this.
