The exhaustion is palpable in this image. Congrats on the PH blue and HM finish, John. That is no small feat.

I don't know whether this is a posed shot, or a 'found' one - I would be delighted if it was the latter, but in any event, it is a cracking photograph. It makes me long to know something of the lady's story.

This image has caused me to stop and pay attention. That means it is in my 7-10 voting band. (Voted earlier)

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.

This is one of my 10s - I like it very much. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. Tonally and given the glow (and stonework), this looks like one of John's
2. A very evocative image that brings mixed emotions
3. I think the image makes a connection - this is most acutely felt through the capture of her arthritic, oedematous hands

Overall it's a bold, slightly in-you-face image that communicates humanity well.
