From Wikipedia:

Six degrees of separation is the theory that everyone and everything is six or fewer steps away, by way of introduction, from any other person in the world, so that a chain of "a friend of a friend" statements can be made to connect any two people in a maximum of six steps. It was originally set out by Frigyes Karinthy and popularized by a play written by John Guare.

So close and yet so far, so far and yet so close.

... and still this is my favourite image of 2014, both for very complicated set up and for the concept.

---

Set up: no mirrors, two different flashes fired, one with the focus on the far egg and the other one after switching the focus manually during the shot.

I can see no banding (checked on 2 computers, one phone and one tablet). If you mean what is visible on the left, that is just the out or focus area. Anyways this was minimal, so no way to fix any kind of issues :)

getting the eggs in the same plane while blurring out the flag in the middle - i would have thought some tilt shiftyness but not so eh?
