I knew it had been a few years since my last entry - turns out it's six! My university has camera equipment available for hire, and having a 50mm 1.8 back in my hands inspired me to rediscover a hobby that gave me a great deal of pleasure until I had to sell all my old kit.
This was taken on Hillhouse Avenue, described by both Mark Twain and Charles Dickens as the most beautiful street in America, on the first day of the February snow. I went around, camera protected under an umbrella, shooting as much as I could, but this one stood out.
Editing: nothing too drastic - crop, selective levels, curves, a bit of desaturation, USM and a bit of dodge and burn.
Post-challenge: Quite exciting to have an image in voting again after all this time! Hovered all week around the 6.3 mark, but enjoyed a last-minute surge and is now my number 2 challenge entry. Many thanks to everyone who voted and commented. |

| WOW, I can see why it's one of the most beautiful streets in America, this has that movie scene feel about it, I really thought it would be in the TT at least. |
