[Feb. 25th, 2014 07:53:17 PM]

So I looked up on youtube how to make paper cranes, and made a bunch of them for the challenge. I wasn't sure what to do with them, but I made them anyway. :)

I didn't really have ideas, so I put them in a line on the floor, trying to get a flash to reflect off the wood floor, kind of like the moon reflecting off of water.

Well -- that's what it was supposed to look like.

It really didn't:

The idea was to change them to B&W, and get kind of funky.

As I was trying to get the right angle, lighting, etc., my son came home with a friend. He's actually a friend of my daughter's, but my son has been hanging out with him recently. That's how he was dressed -- he likes doing that.

He kept offering ideas and we tried hanging a couple and having them float up. That wasn't working.

I could tell he really wanted to be in a picture, so I figured, what the heck -- I could do a couple of quick shots. I'd obviously go for my other ones, but if he wants some pictures, I could do it.

So we set up the shot and did a couple of takes.

They were way better than my failed crane crossing attempts!

Here's some outtakes:

Thanks for the help, Phish!

Well done. That suit makes this all come together.

This is my favourite one and my pick for the blue ribbon! The origamis look like flying away from the boy. His expression is very suggestive and the simple colours work well with the claret bow tie. Lighting works well to draw one's attention. Good luck! :-)

Love the way you've told a story.
