This overcame the resisitence evidently, and rightly so. Breathtaking.

This doesn't look real! Effective use of b/w. Reminds me of a Tim Burton movie. (8)

The use of infrared gives this shot a lot of drama and emotion. I like the range of tones from blacks to whites. This almost has an illustration quality to it. The only thing I'm not liking is the horizon at the center of the frame. I like seeing the horizon offset, either higher or lower in the frame. The diagonal lines in the foreground are a very stong element in this photo, as are the dramatic clouds. Even though they are both strong elements, I still think cropping to place your horizon near the 1/3 or 2/3 line would help. Nice shot and nice use of black and white! 8

Looks drawn by hand, nice effect. I think a tighter crop along the buildings, with a little less sky and a little less foreground, would have been more effective, though.

Decent landscape but I feel the houses take away from the view.

OMG! This is incredible! (Are you sure this isn't film? I am joking, but the clarity and detail have the quality of film work, so I am not accusing you of cheating, just terribly great photography!) The dramatic sky is great, but it's those houses that really stand out (or should I say mansions!). The field in fron doesn't do anything for me, but I think I see why it's there, to add to the feeling of distance, right? No matter, I'm scoring this as a 10 due to it's extreme drama! 10 Swash

I never liked infrared photography, but this is really nice. Very sharp, almost unreal. It makes me think of the scenery of my old model-railway. :)

This is a beautifully executed infrared... great shot :) The only possible improvement that I could see here would have been to lower the horizon so it's not in the center of the frame... removing some of the foreground to include more sky would have done this nicely... at any rate, this is a 10... great shot :) - setzler

Very nice shot. Love the infrared!!! IMO, the home in the middle looks like some spooky old mansion from a horror movie. =D 7

This is so cool . The infrared makes this setting look like a model village. I am however drawn to the left a bit too much. You can see how the lines and darker clouds do that. Wouldnt mind living in one of these shacks too.

IMO there is just a bit too much foreground, the line that runs to the left tends to lead your eye off the image. One of the best infrared shots I've seen at DPC.

Nice shot, the lighting on the buildings is great. You may not need as much of the foreground as you show.

Love the lighting. It's such a dramatic, strong image of (what I consider) rather boring subjects. They ARE very nice houses but ... I wouldn't mind living there anyway.

Gutsy use of a seldom used light, but the image is over all too dark in my opinion. I feel the tree at mid ground right of center should be the near white typical of IR green folage. Still one of my top rated photos this challenge.

very surreal. too bad we can't have the pictures wider, but nice job in framing the structures on the hill.

This is the way to use IR. Very good. Perhaps too much middle (horizon) for my taste. Overall a very good shot and one of my favourits this week. Good luck!

I really like how eerie this feels. The border works with this well, I love hte dark sky, and shadowed foreground. well done.

I really like the contrast in the different areas of landscape. Really nice ! I think a tat lighter would be nicer but that's a personal thing. = 9

This photo is truly amazing in my eyes. I love the darkness, and how the buildings stand out, and the way the road seems to lead up to the mansions. The only way I can fault it, is in the left hand side. Had you either made the photo wider to accomodate what the structure on the left is cut off, or just cut that out completely, I think maybe the picture would be more harmonious. Nonetheless, it's a 9!! thank you for submitting :) -Annida

Very moody photo - especially with the black looking clouds in the sky. It looks like a potential scene for a Tim Burton movie. My only negative comment is that perhaps the black at the bottom is too much - I think the photo could have been very effective if cropped at the bottom of the whitish hill (or even taken from a closer point). Good work
