I am enjoying the painterly (or better, printerly) effects like a lithograph and the claustrophobic, dreamlike quality that takes a while to settle on the brain. I wonder if I would have seen the man trolling for sea monsters if not for the title. It still took a few moments which is part of the pleasure in a dynamic piece of art. bump |

Evocative. I think this must be the cover art for a soundtrack. One of those epic stores written in the 19th century...like Moby Dick (I had to google it). |

Incredible image. Is this photography? I'm asking only because I sense limitations -- of my own making -- being shattered. Simple enumeration of all the wonderful elements here seems pedantic, so I'll mention just two that I appreciate -- the serpentine harpoon with the golden point and the whale's eye that looks like a globe. A favorite. |
