Greetings from the Critique Club :)
I think you did a great job of capturing humor in this image :) Somehow, I think this 'subject' enjoyed this assignment.. lol... The look on his face was the deciding element in this photo for me...
I can't really offer you much real critique on this image because all of the elements come together so nicely. The directional lighting creates a nice drama for this shot that would not have been possible with more light. The balance of light and dark is perfect. The light on the background also helps separate your subject from the background. The detail of his hair is quite visible and not washed out.
Keep up the good work... I have enjoyed watching what you post here :)

| Wierdly funny. IMHO light is too low on the ear side, taking out of the picture the relation between the pencil and the ear. Also, the focus is a little too soft. |

| This is absolutely great, and very funny! Nice job... I love theexpression on his face, and I think that the composition is excellent as well. The lighting is pretty good... I like the fact there is more light on the leeft side of the photo which I think adds to the pencil coming out of the guys nose. The one thing I might have tried to watch out for is the little red thing on his shirt... even though it is a tiny thing, it takes my eyes from his face quite a bit. Still a solid 9... good luck! |

| hehe cute! Lighting is good, but the focus is soft... although I am finding many in this challenge are. I really like the background... nice tonal balance. Great exposure... what is that red thing on his shirt at the bottom there? dunno. (7) |

| That has to hurt! ha ha. An old classice. A bit too much shadow on the side of the face and the face looks a bit blurry. Other than that, nicely composed picture. Thanks for the chuckles. Jacko. |

Darn but this is clever.
I think the expression, colors, focus and light play a big part in the winning factor here. I know if I'd of been any closer it would not be as funny. This is great humor.

lol, this is great. Really suitable expression and the composition is basically perfect. Along with the title this is a really funny photo :)
One suggestion I have is to darken it a little. At the moment all the shadowed areas look blue, rather than black, especially noticable on the face. |

| Maybe a little blood and snot on the protruding part would convince more...but anyway that's a pretty good expression. Hey, didn't your mother ever tell you to never ever stick anything smaller than your elbow in your your ear? :-) |

| Great shot. I love the greenish tone on the whole image. If I didn't already know who this was taken by, I'd assume the photographer has done portraits before. |

| LOL. Couldn't see the pencil coming out of the nose in the thumbnail. Then when it popped up in the big version definately funny. The shadow on the left side of the face (our right) is a bit too dark for me. I think that a little lighting from that side would help us to see that the pencil was going into the ear. The shadow kind of blocks that out a bit right now. I like the angle and framong/cropping. The border is nice, and the focus seems just fine to me. Good luck in the challenge. |
